Willing to pay for a sea trial of a 22-2 flatback
« on: April 01, 2008, 10:01:39 AM »
I'm very interested in purchasing a 22-2 flatback. I love the lines and layout of the boat but have never been on one that was in the water. Is there anyone out there that would be willing to take a stranger out for a brief spin so that I could see what the boat is like? I would be more than willing to pay for someone's time/gas.

I'm a medical professional, employed, and not insane so you'll have no worries about getting some crazy dude on your boat!!! I don't want to waste a seller's time going for a sea trial if this isn't the boat for me. I'm in Tampa near down town but can certainly travel for a sea trial. Can meet up by land or sea at a time that is convenient for you. I'm off work for the next 9 days so anytime is good for me.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a good (or great) guide that fishes out of one of these boats, please pass along the name and contact info as I'd consider chartering for the day.

Thanks

Capt. Jim Lemke of light tackle adventures fishes out of one - he is on this site as "Capt Flatback".  Great guy, great boat.  Bill Miller (from HOF) also has one - but I do not know him as well.

If you're interested in seeing the details of a rebuild, I am in N Tampa and always happy to chat about boats and drink a beer.

I am in Bradenton and I own a 1969 22-2 flatback that I use all the time.  I have not done any restoration but I am willing to meet with you.
