Not quite a rebuild just cosmetic.....for now.
« on: March 18, 2008, 02:35:12 PM »
I am in the process of doing some minor repairs to my boat and I am looking for some advise.  I am removing the bottom paint (about half way done...not fun) from my 1979 22-2 and there are some pretty serious gouges and some pitting on the bottom.  What is the quickest and easiest fix ?  I don't want to get involved in an lenthy major project right now...maybe in the fall I will flip it over and do it the right way like Lil Richard did.

I am also sanding down the gelcoat on the inside of the hull and I am going to roll a fresh coat on with some non-skid.

I finished up the console that I bought from Lil Richard and my new tower should be done soon. Then I will have her back in the water ASAP.

If you ever get stuck on anything give Will over at Bayside Marine a call, I cant say enough good things about the company. I had some issues on the bottom of my hull, and he had me in and out inbetween trips for a fair cost, and great work. You cant ask for anymore out of guy than that.

I use Rust Aid it takes it right off also, but it etches the alluminum on the trailer if you let it run off onto it....I just haven't used it yet.  That is the least of problems right now.
