Hi, i am also a new memeber and I have also just bought the same boat. Aqua sport 1980 22.2 family fisher.  I dont know anything about the boat so I am curious to see what people have to say.

What is the max speed on your boat, and max rpm.  I have a merc 4.3l and it goes 22 mph at 3900 rpm's.  Thanks and good luck!!

What's up sebas54? Good to see someone else with the same vessel. I'm trying to find out what this boat is capable of doing, as far as running offshore/mileage/and seas. I can tell you my max speed is around 23knots at 4500 rpms, and that's with the 3.7 470 mercruiser motor. Going to upgrade over the winter to a 4.3, or 5.7.
