Ok, so some know I sold my 20' CCP to Jdupree in January..well I came across a boat I couldn't pass up..I know, I know she's not an Aquasport but its a well built classic boat...its an 87 21' Chris Craft Sea Hawk..The motor's bad but have a friend giving me a pair of 200hp johnsons with about 550 original hours so that's covered..now its just cleaning and redoing the wiring and getting her ready to go.. and I got it all for $2200..so that's why I posted here because I have gotten lots of good advice and info..sorry the pics aren't great but its all I have at the moment.   So now I've got my bay boat, I'm looking at getting a 17' osprey for the back bays and inlets..just to keep it in the family

Looks like a pretty dry boat - nice flare at the bow.  Chris Craft is - 'scuse me - WAS made here in Bradenton.  I think they just moved everything to GA to save labor.

Thanks for the compliments.   Yeah, the flair is even more impressive in person and its wide..but I do miss the Aquasport though  :cry: ...heard chris craft got bought out by omc a while ago the they went to bombardier and sold it to a couple of guys who went ahead and started the name up again..they've got some really nice fishing boats out now...maybe everyone will get lucky and that will happen with the Aquasport brand if genmar sells/renews it

I don't know about OMC and that history, but I do remember reading in the local news here about an English fellow (I think) buying it.

Yes, everyone did last rites over Chris-Craft, but the company has come back as Chris-Craft Boats (I think the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club owns the Chris-Craft logo now).  The old company went through several owners before being broken up into pieces and sold off years ago.

The current line includes some names from the past, but different kind of boats - mostly Euro-style runabouts.  The Catalina name (started as plywood Cruisers, then entry-level fiberglass cruisers) is now used for center console boats, and Roamers (which used to be steel or aluminum hull cruisers that went up to 75') are now express cruisers, with the biggest at 40'.  

One traditional styling feature that the new company keeps is a focus on wood - lots of wood trim on and in the new Chris-Crafts.

Just contacted the tank mfg. in florida and they told me for an 82 gallon tank just like what's in it and .125 thickness its 820.00, which I didn't think was too bad..I believe they are called Florida Marine Group Inc.  anyone have any experince with them?
