Do you have power trim and tilt on that 70? If so, try trimming the motor way down before you bring it up on plane and then once your up and moving, raise it up to your normal running position.
FYI - The 60 Evinrude that came with my 170 had compression numbers of 110, 106 and 111. Your 70 should be the same.
