What is the length of the fuel tank sender on a 2000 175 Center Console?

We see this pop up from time to time and the stock answer is; "pull the sender and measure". Most members asking because they would like to have the sender on hand when they replace. Understood but....

Since different size tanks (depth) were used on different models, it's often unknown which size fits what models so .....

It's adjustable to different depth tanks.

If you want to update your mechanical sender, you may be interested in a "reed type" like this but you would again be best suited to measure first if you decide to install this type.

Lastly, mounting hole alignment needs to be considered. While, for the most part, these are standardized, checking never hurts.

Much appreciated. I’ll pull it and dip the tank. I will definitely go with the Reed style. I just replaced three on my Blackfin 29. Superior product. It will be the first time all 3 gauges are working at the same time.
