2011 250 Explorer??????  I think 2005 was the last year for the Explorer and the stock tank for the 250 Explorer was 141 gal.

The model you have is a 250 not a 26.5, they didn't include the anchor pulpit -so a 250 Explorer. I have a 230 Explorer that also has a pulpit on it that makes it longer.

Next, the fuel tank, Like JD said, the standard tank size, even back to my '92 is 141gals. Here is a pic from the '01 catalog

So the question is, did you see the tank tag? To replace the tank will entail cutting out the floor/sole to access the tank.  The newer years have a trace line in the deck, looks like a hatch but isn't.  It does give you a place to cut.

OK, I'm guessing you are seeing the tank manufacturer decal through one of the deck inspection plates correct and that you do not have a tank coffin cover, correct?

If so, it's pretty safe to assume your tank is factory installed but is smaller than what normally came on your model. They may have happened for several different reasons.

Line ran out of 141 gals. and subbed the 125 or the original owner requested a smaller tank.

Here are the dims. for the factory 141 gal that should have been originally installed and a custom 125 gal the member had made to replace it.

No matter which size you choose, you're in for a fair amount of work in cutting the deck for access and then using that piece to create a coffin cover.

Good luck. :thumright:

My boat is a '92 230 Explorer and the fuel tank is 141 gal. Your Subject indicates a 2011. Do you mean 2001?
