Throttle Quadrant Neutral Safety Switch
« on: September 11, 2021, 10:37:08 AM »
I recently experienced an engine no start situation; however, after a little testing the problem zeroed in on the failure of the Neut. Safety Switch located in the throttle quadrant. The function of this switch is not to allow the engine to start unless in neutral. I am unable to locate a schematic of the throttle quadrant so I'm not sure what kind/type of switch this might be. In order to crank the engine I bypassed this Neut. Safety Switch; however, I would like to replace it, if available. Would anyone know if these switches are replaceable? The rig is a 2005 185 Osprey powered by a 2005 115 hp, 4-stroke, Fuel injected Mercury.
Thank you,

Dave

It’s a micro switch in the remote control box. Split it apart you will see it operating off a cam. Match it up online you should be good to go.
