Anti siphon valve stuck? Calling on the smart guys..
« on: March 15, 2021, 09:41:55 PM »
I’m tired of running on deck tanks for three years. With limited space on back deck of 1998 175 aqua sport. 33 gallon below deck tank not being used. But can’t seem to get a flow coming out. The only access is a pie plate to give access to a fuel barb which has no fuel line attached. Do I stick a clothes hanger inside that fuel barb to get flow? Is there an anti siphon valve that is stuck? If I get flow, then dispose of properly then add a bunch of alcohol, drive it around the trailer, dispose of again, then plumb for fuel/ Water separator. Pain in the butt carrying all those deck  tanks and no space. I really don’t want to cut in to deck unless I have too. Thanks in advance.

This is confusing.  You say you can’t get fuel coming out, but there is no fuel line attached to the barb. How are you trying to get flow without having a line attached to the tank?

To your question, you should be able to remove the barb from the pickup tube.  You can un screw the barb and clean it or (better option) replace it.  It’s pretty cheap.

Need more details on the issue.  Your problem also could be a clogged fuel pickup screen, a clogged tank vent or bad fuel lines which degrade from ethanol and fall apart inside causing clogs (see boatnamesue’s recent post).
