Clear coat on topsides?
« on: May 30, 2020, 06:40:11 PM »
So I'm in the process of refurbishing this 2000 225 explorer I got. Its the tournament edition so it has the dark blue hull which is pretty faded. I attempted to compound it but the chalkiness came back real quick. So I'm gonna do a full wetsand on it. One thing I noticed, on the gunwales, in spots, it seems there is a real smooth, shiney finish, almost like it had been clearcoated at some point. It looks like it's peeled/worn off on most of the area. Anybody ever seen this? I'll try and post pics. Not sure it will be obvious.
