165 Osprey front cooler
« on: February 20, 2020, 03:18:05 PM »
The front cooler on the 165 Osprey I just purchased is missing.  I don't have the boat here, so I am unable to take measurements myself.  can anyone provide the cooler dimensions, or the width of the center console itself, so I can find a cooler to fit the location?
Thanks

Ray, I believe it's 32 qt. I detailed why in your intro post.

Good luck.  :thumright:

Thanks for the information.
I checked the 32 qt specification, but that does not give the dimensions. Since there are such different coolers available now as compared to back in 2000, the dimensions of the console would help in finding a new cooler to fit the space

I realize you are not able to get to your boat but is the cooler held in place by "mounts" on the deck? It appears in the catalogs that this is SOP for securing the cooler in place.

Are those "chocks' present on your boat?

Are they four separate chocks or one solid unit?

If in fact they are individual chocks, you should be able to adjust them to fit a new cooler. Yes, you need to drill new holes and seal old but you aren't limited to an exact fit.

Good luck. :thumright:

After much searching for a cooler sturdy enough to stand up to my weight or that of my sons, and did not cost the $250-$300 for one of the big names.
I found a 30 qt rotomolded cooler with nearly perfect dimensions by a company called Blue Cooler.  The original seat cushion fits it well. Even better, it cost less than $140.
I have the big name 110 cooler on my other boat, and this one feels just as strong. It installed easily, as I only had to move the original brackets out about 3/4" on each side.  I hope this helps anyone looking to replace their front cooler seat on their 165.
