After a water pump service and carb clean and rebuild she fired up after a long 10 yr slumber. Since the shift linkage bolts to the starboard side air-box, had to unbolt it and I mistakenly put it back wrong. I have to put it reverse to crank it. I believe that’s where it thinks it’s in nuetral. So is this a good plan? Put it in reverse to get her in nuetral, then unbolt the gear shift cable, and then put the binacle at the helm in nuetral, and bolt her back up at the motor. I feel I’m close to getting this old girl back in service, but this would not have been possible without the help of some folks much smarter than me . Thanks in advance.
