Tow Vehicle Suggestions

I have a single axle trailer for my 1972 22-2 Aquasport Center Console. I don't have a truck to haul boat and trailer with. I'm looking at a 2000 Ford F150 5.4l V-8 4x4 with tow package. Rated max. 7500 lbs towing capacity. Will this truck tow the trailer and boat with no problem? Any other suggestions? Thanks, all.

Perfect combo, especially with the four wheel drive for pulling the loaded trailer up a slippery ramp.

Thanks, RickK and LilRichard. By the way, what is the official weight of this boat, dry - with no gas? I know it's probably heavier now with wet foam, etc. But when it was produced originally, what was the weight? Thanks. Oh, I almost forgot. Single axle trailer is probably another 1,200 lbs, right? Once I get all these numbers added up, I'll be confident that the truck I have in mind can do the job.

Blue - that truck will tow 2 of those 222s before it starts to have problems.  Now try a 250 Explorer, twins, loaded with gas, gear, beer, ice, beer, etc (did I mention beer?) and then you're questionable.  Your biggest worry as I read it is "Can I get her out of the ramp?" - you will hardly feel her WITHOUT putting the truck in 4WD (unless the ramp is 45 degree).  Will you feel her towing at 65 down the freeway - yes - not when you're at 65 but getting there, especially if you have to "get on it" to merge.
No worries.

John, that's funny - attached to the frame at least and not the bumper.
