Does anybody have any experience using a concrete grinding disc to make quick work of knocking down gel coat and old glass?

I think the preferred method is to use a flap disc, (layered sandpaper on a grinding disc).
should be able to work thru gelcoat pretty quickly with some 40grit. Same for the glass.
wear a mask, googles, gloves, and cover up.

Yup, ^^ what he said. A flap sanding wheel will eat it up. You might be able to find it in 26 grit also.

Agreed we use the "flapper wheels" at work and I got sleeves of them in 40 80 and 120 grit on the last job. They work AWESOME but I find the 40 grit is too aggressive for delicate tasks
