I have a 74 170 with 88 spl that i've been using for a while now. she's not pretty, but gets me around and more important, works. sorted fuel system and running off portable tanks. transom has crack and floors are 3/4 marine ply glued down.
My brother has a 88 175 with 115 that has blown powerhead. repowering with my 88spl would be easy as wiring/controls/etc line up. Boat is super clean. I can get with trailer for $1400.
How are the later models built? 1974 feels rock solid even in good chop. Would I be able to use the powerhead off my 88 on the 115? That motor has power trim/tilt and mine does not.
What's a pretty solid 74 that has papers with trailer worth?
