73 19-6 rebuild start
« on: August 06, 2006, 01:03:35 AM »
My son just bought a 19-6 ( i use to own one along with a classic 22) The 19-6 hull is in decent shape. previous owner painted top with house paint. We have been scrapping in the heat wave for a week! We just finished rewiring (again previous owner was no electritian, what a mess of wires) We also picked up a unique T-top (fly fisherman version), Can't wait to get it installed. The engine is a 76 115 Merc, will make it through the rest of summer then we will repower.
Will try and post some pic's We need a replacement for the center bow hatch. Anyony out there have one from your own refit?

Obsessed,  sounds like a great project.  Seems a lot of the work needed on these boats is undoing the work of previous owners.  In my case, the problems started off at the factory.

Great screen name... Obsessed.  Applies to most all of us here!

Post some pictures when you can!!!

We recently repowered with a Johnson 70hp VRO. I know ,I know, underpowered. The boat moves fine with the 70 ,GPS was reading 21.6. Thats fast enough for striper fishing. Next stop, the garage to redo the deck and algrip the top sides I will post some pic's
