Coffin lid gasket
« on: March 27, 2016, 08:18:39 PM »
Has anyone used a gasket on the coffin lid lip and then caulked around the perimiter?  I haven't heard anyone mention this method of sealing the lid so there must be a downside.  Any sugestions?

Sounds like wearing a belt with suspenders.

Clean it real good and seal it with 4200UV.

Good luck. :thumright:

Well sometimes you can't be to careful.  Back in the day I had two flak jackets, I wore one and sat on one.

Capt. Bob, sometime I'm a little slow on the uptake...do I use 4200FC or 4000UV to seal the coffin lid?

I prefer the 3M 4000UV. It seals (and has some adhesive strength) very well and is easier to remove if required.

An added extra is that it retains color(white, hence the UV moniker) much better than 5200, which will indeed turn yellow with time in the sunlight.

Good luck. :thumright:
