Looking at a flatback
« on: November 26, 2015, 11:33:36 AM »
Hey guys going to look at a flat back Aquasport 22 next week it's a complete project but just wondering what to look out for. I know I plan on doing everything stringers floor and transome. But what about the hull straightness?  How to I check for this and what to look out for I know I have read about a lot and know a decent amount but looking for input from you guys that have been there and done it. Hope I'm wording it right but I have heard of a hooked hull? Any info helps thanks guys

Hi Mark - Happy Thanksgiving  :nSalute:
I had a 3/8" hook the last 3-4 ft of my 170 but I would have been hard pressed to notice it until I flipped her upside down to do the bottom and laid a straight edge on it.

If you know it's a real project from the get go I would look for holes in the hull and unless the holes are gigantic, anything else can be made/fixed.  I would make sure that everything is there; console, casting deck, cap and possibly helm seat.

My  :2Cents:
