Matching deck texture on repair job

Any tips on creating a matching texture on my deck repair? Just covered two deck plates during coffin hatch repair.I don't want the repair to look smooth unlike the textured deck. Some way of pressing a pattern on fairing compound is what I'm thinking.

Take a look at this. I have no experience with these, but I think you would press onto gel coat, not fairing compound (the fairing compound would need to be covered with gel or paint, which may somewhat fill in the valleys in the pattern).

There may be other brands...this was the first thing that popped up.

I read the "how to" on spot repair. Pretty slick if you can get the right (or close match). They do have an "Aquasport" pattern but I'm not sure it would fit all years but still, they have quite a few.
Nice find Craig.

Wow. And I was gonna try and make something.
Thanks for the link. I think I found the match. And thanks for advice on gel coat. Deck plate holes filled in . Will smooth with fairing compound and leave slight depression for gel coat. Use the pattern and it should look great.

Make sure you post before and after pics. I'm sure quite a few of us are interested in how well these patterns work
