I have a 71 19.6. Not sure which to by a 20" of 25" shaft. I'm putting a 150 Suzuki on the boat. Any thoughts?

Hi Nor,
Are you going to raise the transom? Porta Lift? Jack plate? If yes then maybe a 25 would work. If not, then a 20" is the default.
Are you sure it is a 196 and not a 191? Here is a price list from '71

Here is a link to a 68-69 catalog that has the 191 in it.

The 191 has a unique bottom and is apparent at the transom. If you have pics of the back of your boat can you post them?
If you are sure it is a 196 (emblem on the side says 196) then it's a '72 at the earliest.
