Engine for 1971 aquasport 19

Hello,
I'm new to the forum.  Just purchased a 19 aquasport yesterday, and looking for an engine.  I'm open to suggestions.  I was thinking a Suzuki 115 or 150 4 stroke.  Any help would be appreciated.

These are factory recommendations with performance figures. Remember these HP and MPH figures are from a bygone era. You will need to adjust weight and hp to today's power.



I would also browse the 19-1 19-6 rebuild forum for possible info on what newer power members are running.

I had a F115 for a few yrs.  On my 72' 19-6.   Last yr I started looking for and upgrade to 150 and really like the new 4s merc.  But ended up getting a used 150 opti  $!  SOOO Happy!  stay away from a 115.  Such a difference in performance and handling about the same on fuel if not better because im getting to spots alot faster.

Thanks for the info.  I'm looking at the Yamaha or Suzuki 150.  Really like the Suzuki warranty.
