When did Aquasport go wood free?
« on: June 18, 2015, 03:29:26 PM »
Hi. I know this question has been asked a thousand times and I did do a search but there were alot of results to sift through.

I'm presently shopping for a used 20 to 23 ft walkaround and there are a couple explorer models that would be perfect. But I really want a hull that has woodfree stringers and transom.

Thanks in advance.

The stringers were always wood free.  I think they started pouring the transoms when Genmar took over - so figure early to mid 90s.
The Explorers will have end core Balsa as the core of the floors and the walk ways around the cabin and the front seating area will be cored with plywood. Under the cap where the railings are will be backed with wood also.
