Poking around in the bilge area, checking pumps etc...after lay-up & brutal winter I saw something I never noticed before. Just to the side of the raw water valve on the bottom of the shelf that the oil tank sits there is a hole that looks like a drain exit I have no idea where the other end is or what purpose it serves...........................Anyone

I'll try to look at mine tomorrow.  Do you have a pic of yours so that I can look in the right place?  As you know, it is not easy getting in there, so I want to make sure I'm looking at the same thing you are.

Looking from the battery door to the sea/ valve it will be in plain sight to the right low on the shelf wall   a 1" hole plainly there with finished edges. I have had no luck posting pic's here

What kind of device are you using?  PC, iPad, Droid?

First of all, thank you for making me look in my bilge area.  I really need to get out the cleaning supplies and make it presentable.  With that said, here is the embarrassing picture of the drain in question (at least I think it is the one you are asking about)



This appears to be the drain from the outboard side of the port stringer to the bilge.  If you look in your bilge closely, behind the washdown/baitwell pump (assuming yours is setup like mine), you will find an identical one on the opposite side of the bilge, in the starboard stringer, that serves the same purpose for the space outboard of the starboard stringer.

First, thanks for taking the time to look. So if I understand you water that may get in such as down the gunnel rod holder for example....................that's where it goes

Again, if you use the Forum Gallery, it sizes the photo automatically. You do not need to size your original. Uploading to the Gallery is not file size restrictive (under most conditions). You probably would run into trouble uploading a Blu Ray DVD but I have yet to be file sized even with my digital SLR. The posting of a pic is size restricted but again, the Gallery (as stated above) does this automatically.

If you decide to use a third party host then I would think the host (let's say Photo Bucket) has an editing feature (PB does) and try resizing your original to 640px X 480px. The photo in Craig's last post is this size.
