I don't know about it being in the same class as a split window Vette...but I understand what you're saying. You may have the oldest, definitely the oldest documented to date. Also, 165 would put you into 1965. I personally theorize that the first number in our case was the year of production, not a literal sequential number while the company was still C&S.

I'll have to look through my pics and see what I can dig up for the sole. My original casting deck is behind the barn, so I can get new pics from that if need be.

Appreciate it callyb! I looked up your rebuild but most of the pictures I could not view?? Only a few. Especially your boat being closer in age I was looking for small detail differences I found a few similar to mine but most of the pictures did not say what yr it was. I should have been more specific with the second meaning to the 00165 they say it may be the 165th boat in 1990 when the boat was registered as homemade in mass which is when it was assigned the MSZ serial #. It may very well be the 165th boat C&S produced I may never find out and doesn't really matter like gran398 said but i would like to find out if I could!
