1981 Hydra Sport 2100 CC Prop- Suggestions wanted
« on: December 29, 2014, 08:00:38 AM »
Running a 1996 225 Merc offshore Carb.

The boat is a true 21 feet, with an 8 foot beam. I BELIEVE, it's 22 degrees of deadrise at the stern. With motor, fuel and gear, she is coming in around 3400 pounds. SO, not the lightest 21 out there.

I have decided on a 3 Blade Stainless Prop.

I'm looking for a good "All around" prop, but I'd like to "keep up" in a drag race down the bay to the inlet:)

Of the following, what would you suggest:

14x19

14 3/4 X19

14x21

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Of the choices, my vote would be the 14x19, better hole shot and good top end, especially if it's a 4 blade.

Ugh,

So I threw someone on ebay an absurd offer for a (almost) new Quicksilver Mirage Prop that is 21" Pitch, and 14 3/4 diameter......they took it.

Might be over propped here:) However, might be fast as all hell:)

I hope it's not that bad.... Otherwise, I'm swapping it out asap. However, with the 225 2 stroke, it should have some pretty good grunt.

Fletch - you can bob the blades on that 21 by a half inch and maybe get about what you want.  :thumleft:

But - that 3 liter Merc deuce and a quarter might just pull it - and wide open would be around 50...

Here's the prop I'm running on my CCP at a deal on eBay - best I've run:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Aquasport- ... 6016.l4276

Here's a 4-blade for $100:

And a 3 blade for $100:

Good luck!
