Final Expolrer Production Year
« on: July 08, 2014, 05:46:28 AM »
Planning to upgrade to an Explorer 225 from my current Etec powered '89 175 Osprey next spring
and would like to know the last year built. Been cruising the local harbors checking out the boats
of this size. The latest design is a nice one and would work well for us. We just do day trips and we're
not into fishing. Most boats have Yamaha power but I'm an Etec guy. Yamahas are good motors but
not for me. Boats with the dark blue hull look nice, kinda tired of white.

Keep in mind the hulls with the dark green and blue hull sides look great.  But they are a PAIN to keep perfect.  You just look at em wrong and you'll scratch them.  You have to keep them waxed and polished three times as much as a white hull to prevent fading and oxidation.  They make boat white for a reason.... it hides all the minor imperfections, scuffs scratches etc.  Don't get me wrong they look REALLY nice.  I almost bought a green 245 Explorer.  But I ended up with my current 245.  Don't get hung up on the newest year either,  if you shop around you can find a older model year that is in as good as or better condition than a newer one.
