Thanks for the Marinco part reference site. Now I see exactly what the part is.

I was trying to avoid cutting the charger cord and just plug it into the back of the inlet port but guess I will just have to cut it.

You DO NOT have to cut the cord... a 2-gang receptacle (box) is the same thing you have at your house 1 gang or 2 it doesn't matter, in fact once the extension cord is plugged into the marinco receptacle, you have an on board outlet for running tools if working on the boat?  http://www.garvinindustries.com/weather ... roof-boxes

On my Osprey I mounted my charger on the starboard stringer just left (looking in) of the batteries at the stern.  I drilled a 2" hole above my wash down hose outlet.  Now when I am hooking her up I just run the cord through the vertical slot in the washdown / tackle drawer hatch, then through the hole above the port and down to to my charger.  I did like the plug Wing provided... I might see if that would fit where I have my plug running through now... I like clean!

I had one of those on my 200 Osprey.  I cut the charger cord and hard-wired it to the connector.  No big deal.  I didn't have to change the charger in the 6 years I owned the boat.  It gives a nice clean look.  IMO, just cut the cord, connect it, and be done with it.

Agreed.  Quite often when a charger is located inside the console, the charger inlet is pretty close by, leaving you with quite a bit of excess cordage, which you have to "dog bone" up and try and make it look pretty.  Here's how I did the charger and inlet on Scotty's 22-2...



Obviously, my preferred method is to cut the plug off and hardwire to the inlet...

Good thought . I didn't even consider voiding the warranty, just wanted to be as uncomplicated as possible:-)
