Darn tootin' it was a fun thread!
Don was dealing with a passel of Palm Beach pretty boys over on THT. Their sigs showed every boat their daddy had gifted them since puberty. A bunch of Ascot Prescott Thurston Howell the Thirds.
He began the thread by saying he was looking to deck his boat in the short-term so he could get a few more years out of her. He showed a 2 by 4 or two....and the dandies went to schooling on him like a hair on a biscuit.
He played them like a Stradivarius. Got into character and chummed them up with a don't give a chit redneck persona. I got it.... and was digging it. But boy were they MEAN....and wouldn't let up. So became his "Aw shucks Andy Taylor/ Barney Fife" sidekick. With some sopistikated verbiage at the end the fops weren't expecting. Hammer-time
