New fuel tank time ....... again!
« on: May 24, 2014, 01:18:58 PM »
I finally made the plunge and bought a like new Yamaha F115 with 32 hours on it for 5,500.00. The deal included all controls, prop and digital computer readout tach head and the price was right. So in making the transition of removing my Mercury 115 and all the controls etc. I naturally wanted to install a new fuel line and filter assembly for the Yamaha, In doing so,I found some pin holes on top of my new, I replaced it ten years ago" fuel tank. lol!! Time flies. No biggy.....so it is tank time. My question is? Any other member out there with a circa 1986 200 Osprey that has replaced the aluminum tank with a Moeller and can give me the Moeller replacement part number? It would make things a bit easier as I don't want to do this again in 10 years. I'm the type of guy that hates change.....Maybe that's why I stuck with that inline 6 - 115hp Mercury for so long?

So what do we know?

86 Osprey - 45 gal. tank.
http://www.classicaquasport.com/gallery ... -5&cat=574

Tank dims. from the Resource forum  64"L x 21.5"W x 8"H
viewtopic.php?p=112279#p112279

Moeller site, again from the Resource forum

A quick review of the site shows one 45 gal tank. Does not appear to be a direct replacement. Dimensions may not work.

But you don't know till you try.

I can't recall a member replacing the Hialeah hull models with a poly (you didn't) but possibly someone here did.

Good luck.

Thanks Bob  I had found all of that on the resource site before I posted but was hoping someone already had the answer for the exact tank that fits. Like you say I won't know until I try!

I was at http://www.themarineconnection.com/ 2 weeks ago and they had poly tanks that I think would work. Before I went there to get my new tank, I called them and told them what I wanted. They took the measurements and went and looked. I got a phone call back the next day saying they had the tank I was looking for. Also sent me photos via email to confirm the item was what I wanted. Gave them my Credit Card to hold it. No issues very great service and there is an entire wall of the main storage building filled with Poly tanks floor to ceiling
