Looked at a 17 Whaler today, crazy trailer light mounting.

Sorry, no photos.
I had a friend call me, he found a "great deal" on a 17 Whaler Montauk.
I went this afternoon to check it out.
When I arrived, the older guy had it covered up and we walked over.
As he uncovered it, the trailer lights were screwed to the transom, yes, screwed to the transom.
I guess I gave a funny look, cause he asked me what was wrong.
I really was just dumbfounded.
Who would do that?
So, I asked about the lights and why he would drill the transom???
He said that he was going to use a mounting kit for the lights but this was cheaper.
Yea, no s*&t.

So, my next question was what do you do about the holes when you use the Whaler?
He said, and I quote "doesn't hurt anything, they are full of foam " WTF?

I was nice and told him good luck, the cover never got off much further.

If I was smart,
I should have had him remove the entire cover. I could have taken photos.
We would have been able to laugh our ass's off for quite some time.

The best part?
They we not stainless screws.
Had long rust stain lines.
There are people that can ruin anything.
