Nautical Fleamarket
« on: January 27, 2014, 08:48:14 AM »
Visited the Pompano fleamarket yesterday and scored big-time.

Picked up a 7' 10lb G.Loomis spin rod that just needs new guides for $10 (retail $205)
Picked up a "used twice" fortress anchor, 8' of extra heavy galvanized chain, and 150' of rode for $75 (the anchor still had the stickers on the flukes.
picked up a brand new back cushion for the front of the wellcraft console for $15 (sticker price on the back was $71) and it fits PERFECTLY!

Can't wait to rebuild the rod.  Already got it stripped down and ready for wrapping   .  Have needed a good 7' backcountry rod with some backbone to yank the snook and reds from under the mangroves for a long time.  Odd that I never built one for myself years ago considering I built several for my fishin buddies.

yup... Dania fleamarket is the biggest one in the area (and the closest to me), but many of the same tents get set up at both events.  Looking forward to that one in march.  Still need a few things   8)
