Looks like a good day to wax the boat
« on: December 01, 2013, 01:20:25 PM »
Winter Salmon season opens today...boats ready but weather ain't cooperating
Blowing 30 +
Rained like a cow pissing on a flat rock all day yesterday, river turned to crap overnight so no fishing to be done there.
Great weather for Duck hunting....sounds like a war zone below my property........but gave up that years ago.

We are supposed to be having a Artic front moving in tomorrow night , strong NE winds and temp down in the teens so looks like no fishing any time soon
No Seahawks to listen to today.
Oh well !
Started waxing the old girl yesterday, looks like a good day to finish it up.
Weather can't stay crappy forever.   8)

Bill, the weather has been decent down here, but quite breezy, which makes for our gulf "washing machine".  That will kick your butt...

No problem Bill, happy to help :)
We have a cold snap coming on Thursday.
The good thing about here.
Cold for a day or two.
Back to about 70 or so sunny and calm winds without a winter storm..
January is my favorite time here.
Santa Ana winds 80 or so degrees, smooth water, plus the days are getting longer in Jan.

Nice way to end the season.

Bad time of the season to be a reptile.

If the "reptiles" don't start putting points on the board next season, bad time of the year to be a Muschamp...

BONDOBILL,

Thanks for a great photo of Waterfowl season in the Pacific Northwest. How I do envy you.

It seems that if one were to draw a diagonal line over the USA as far as you can go and still
be on land, the opposite ends would be where you and I currently live. Have been in the Seattle
area a number of times and love it.

You 'hooked me' with the comment about the "war zone" going on down from your property
as I'm an old duck hunter. Decades ago I got to hunt for a week at 'Tule Lake' on the Oregon
California border. I have never seen so many ducks in my life as during that week, and they
were all BIG ducks, mainly greenheads and pintails. They came up like clouds of mosquitos
from where they were feeding, circled around and would go back down again.

Thanks for bringing back good memories, albeit with some envy for your present situation.

Your welcome and Thanks
Living up here we don't get to brag about our Football teams much, but that young man Russell Wilson
has gotten everyone pumped up......Scotty you where right all along

Now if the U of W Huskies would just hire a good coach

I grew up within a stone throw of where I live now. That photo could have just as well been taken 50 years ago. I spent many a weekend and after school Duck hunting that exact same area, that landscape has not changed as long as I can remember. Only thing that has changed is most of the property is posted now.

B-BILL,

Enjoyed reading your reply. Sounds like we're about the same "vintage" wine.

I hunted the west side of Lake Okeechobee 50 years ago, every weekend
for over a decade during waterfowl season. Shot many a duck there beginning
the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to the middle of January. Great memories.

Here is MY PICTURE for the day in my location. Jupiter Inlet, FL and southward.
This is the best day we've had in a month. Usually the wind is howling; has
been that way for over 2 years now; much different than what had been stable
weather during half the year for past decades.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN WHAT YOUR'E LOOKING AT BELOW
(the Bahamas are only 60 nautical away from the inlet you see at the left)

Bill, glad the 'Hawks are smokin'....Russell is the real deal, looks like he and Peyton are the main players for MVP honors :salut:

Coverhill, that is a beautiful pic! Has the sailfish run started?
