Through hull fitting
« on: March 08, 2014, 08:27:52 PM »
I have a through hull fitting that seems to go no where...... It is located at the water line, or just below, directly under the breather for the gas tank. Starboard side, 3/4 to the bow..... My question is what is this for?

Ya know, I never saw what model you actually have but assuming it's CCP then SB just answered your question.

Regardless of the model, this location port or starboard will be the forward fish box drain.

To test, put a garden hose in the box and check the flow.

That doesn't always work Scott! I did that on my 170 it vanished!  LOL  The fish box drain hose came off the fitting on the fish box...  The water was actually just going in to the bilge...  and If I had take the boat out without the plug that the PoO had stuffed into the thru hull...  well my 170 would  have sank!

Yep I know, that's the reason for the test

Should have mentioned, put the garden hose in the fishbox with the boat ON THE TRAILER :salut:

The 19-6 gas hose install I just helped with....the fishbox drain hose was loose in the bilge

looks like my live well drain location…. my fish box one is smaller and located a little bit higher and forward of that one.

So there's no misunderstanding, the thru hull shown in my post is for a 22-2 CCP. It is connected to the floor drain that resides under the coffin box that the models usually had. The box has a drain in it that is centered over the floor drain.

SDL has not mentioned the model but I'm guessing it's a 222 of some sorts.
