Got a new GPS
« on: October 11, 2013, 11:33:24 PM »

Well ..... Buck did anyways

I was looking for a invisible fence to keep our pup on the property.
A friend turned me on to this .
Got it last weekend and I got to admit, Buck...that be my pup.... caught on to it a lot quicker then I did.
You set up a radius from 15 to 800 yards on the hand held unit and the GPS does the rest.
It sets up a circle fence via GPS.
No wires, no trenches to dig, and if your pup does some how get outside the fence, the system shuts down to let them back in, plus you can keep track of your pups location with the hand held unit

The paw print on the hand held screen is the location and distance of Buck from the center of the containment fence set up on the GPS.
The icon just below the paw print is the location of the hand held unit, which is me.

The warning your dog gets when it reaches the first ring of the fence is the collar vibrates, you set up 2 more fences out side of the first fence with a degree of shock from 1 to 50.
Vibrate mode is all it takes for Buck to turn around.

I really didn't know what to expect when I ordered this contraption :?
I got to say tho... I am impressed  :D

But .......I can't speak for Buck

First off...he's a keeper :thumright:

Nothing like a good lookin' doggie to take care of things around the house.

That is a neat unit, old tech  Invisible Fence with the latest in GPS technology. Shuts itself off when the dog has breached the perimeter... big plus. Years past, when the dog escaped for whatever reason, he would shy away from coming back in the yard.

Now, if the male dog gets a whiff of attraction...he can go carousing, knowing he has a good meal and warm bed to come home to :thumright:

Very cool  :salut:
Does the handheld part have to be on to set the perimeter or is it downloaded to the collar?

Pricey setup though

Once you set the fence perimeter with the hand held unit and activate the fence you can turn off the hand held and the fence stays activated.
Yea they are kinda pricey but I look at it this way, the unit cost me what I used to spend on cigarettes in 2 months   :D

I am kinda hoping the L ear stays that way....gives him character ...but it is standing up more and more everyday.

That's good about the collar storing the perimeter.  Glad to see you're now talking past-tense about smoking.  You've made it pal.

I initially thought that the dogs ears were what you were talking about and they were pointing you toward the direction.  Cute dog.  :thumleft:

Bill  you can tape that ear down to keep it from standing up.  Used to do that with Shelties to keep the tips of their ears folded forward.

The boss says we need a big dog to be Boo-Boo's buddy.

Any plans on breeding later on?  Tx.

I quit smoking on May 2nd so it's been better than 5 months now
My friends said they didn't think  I would ever quit, but they did say that I was stubborn enough to stick to it once I said I was quitting. I spend the money I used to piss away on smokes and buy something whether it be for the boat, or whatever.

Sorry Scott..... Buck has a appointment with the vet next week, no breeding for him.
We used to breed Siberian Huskies....once we got out of that we said never again.
