Hey all, just joined to maybe get some insight into a 2000 225 ex that I have the opportunity to purchase. I currentky own a century 2100 wa that is in great shape and serves the purpose but have always loved the aquas and would love to move a couple of feet also. Thanks in advance for any advice you all may have.

A co worker of mine is looking to get rid of his 225 ex te. Structuraly the boat looks solid, no blisters, minimal spider cracks, etc. Cosmetically it needs some tlc. Blue hull is faded and needs to be wet sanded/compounded, topsides and entire boat need same. Has strange "clear/protective"coating that remains half worn on starboard gunnel that needs to be removed and or reapplied? Motor is a 2000 johnson 225 with a recent powerhead with very low hours. Bottom needs to be stripped and painted, and just generally entire boat needs love.
What would be a fair price? What would be a steal it price? Is it worth the elbow grease?
I will post a few pics I took in a little while.

What comes with the boat? does it have a trailer? If so aluminum or galvanized? If it is a TM I assume it has a hard top? What electronics does it have on it? Any idea of number of hours on the boat and new powerhead? Also where are you located? Price can vary with the market location. Of course pics would help so we will wait for those.

Steal it price? $7500 including trailer. Dual axle EZLoader if it was a package deal out of the plant. Being a TM model, the hardtop was standard, but could be deleted for credit. Didn't see too many TMs leave without tops. Tabs, dive ladder, FW system, battery switch, bolsters. But if the gold rub rail insert needs replacing, Marine Connection in Ft. Pierce is your only option (MAYBE Marine Surplus in Bradenton), as Taco quit making the gold years ago...

These are the pics I took. Rub rail needs replacement. Has tabs. Elects are just OK. Needs wash down pump, has freshwater. No trailer.

Good thing is the gold insert looks in good shape, the extrusion just needs replacing. Basically the boat just needs a good cleaning. Fortunately the washdown pump is easy to get to just inside the port access door at the stern. And I'd test that spotlight...

Added 2 more pics I had. I tried getting guy to take my boat and some cash but his financial situation is pretty strained. Im just not sure I want to unload mine outright to take on the unknown so to speak.

Boat is on long island NY. No idea abt total hours but pH was replaced season before last with minimal hours since then. $10k is the asking price.
