Aquasport lettering and enblems
« on: May 25, 2013, 09:13:56 PM »
Hey everybody, I've already tried two sources from this site to find somebody who could reproduce lettering for my 225 Explorer but have so far been unsuccessful.  As you can see in the picture, the "A" that starts Aqausport was faded.

However, after using a compounding agent on the boat, the faded A totally disappeared so now I have a "quasport."  Now I'm either going to replace just the A or the whole Aquasport name and I want the raised letters made for a Tornament Master model.  Has anyone dealt with anyone recently that could help me out?  I called Maine Connection but they only have the gray and black letters, which doesn't help me.  I made contact with a company called Vinyl Approach and they want me to send a picture of the A from the other side of the boat and some measurements.  I'm not as happy as I could be having custom work done by an unknown.  Oh well, we'll see.  Hit me back, if you know anybody.  Thanks

Hi!

Easiest thing would be to take her by a sign shop you've done biz with and ask them to match up the font and color. Just the "A". They'll offer various thicknesses (vinyl heights).  Make sure its UV resist vinyl.

Will be less than 20 bucks :thumright:

It's hard to tell in the pic but are the letters just one color? or do they have a outline?  If they are one color it would be easy for a sign shop to reproduce them for ya.

Thanks fellas.  I did try the same graphics shop that did the lettering for my old boat but no dice.  I'll try a new sign shop this week.  And Mr Bob, thats my highly efficient boat mechanic & the broker standing around right after the sea trial.  Nice day.  It was dry, temps in the low 40's.  A good day.

I just received my artwork for the large AQUASPORT on my 2000 Osprey 200- beautifully done and they are great folks to work with- I ordered one of their standard sizes (7xx I think) and told them the exact dimension of my old lettering- they stretched the image and it's a perfect match. Highly recommended.  mvh

Thanks everybody for your comments. I've talked to a couple people who can make the lettering, just none that can make the "molded" raised lettering I've been looking for.  Soon I'll just have to get what I can get unless I want to keep my "quasport."

When you say ‘raised molded’ lettering…..the long AQUASPORT appliqué I got from VisualVinyl is individual vinyl lettering (not one big sticker), so once applied the letters are raised and individual. They are encapsulated in two release sheets- on the back to protect the adhesive and on the front to aid in alignment and spacing.  But the letters all stand alone.  Or, maybe I didn’t understand you…..  :bounce:

Last time I looked, Marine Connection Liquidators in Ft. Pierce had a few sets of the raised letter decals you're looking for, but only in aqua. www. Marineconnectionliquidators.com
