I had thought about that Craig.  Even though the glass wouldn't bond to the starboard, it would keep it stationary...stationary enough to drill into and run screws into it without it moving around.

Exactly  :thumright:

Hi Craig,

Guess it depends as to how the potential install would go.

You said the spray rail would through-bolt...if that were the case, and you could get to the back of the bolts....you could 5200 in a length of aluminum strip, say quarter or 3/8ths, as a backing plate.

But if it were to SCREW in...because you couldn't access the rear....then you'd have to go with the taller material. Like you were saying, 3/4 or one inch stuff.

One thing I was thinking about....That install would be right at the chine, exactly at the forefoot entry. That would be a logical area for structural "beef". Like the glass core or the high density penske board material. Seems like we may have some of that left over from Miss D....I'll check and see and send it down if you like the idea...

Thanks Scott.  I should have some leftover board after my transom, knees, etc.  I'm a little ways away from having to decide on this aspect, but I appreciate the offer!

No prob, its always fun figuring out how to spend someone else's money

Thanks for allowing us to be a part of things. With Miss D...listening to the boys regarding how and where to spend money was the best part. They "done good".  It was a team effort :thumright:

Eugene called today...it was great to hear from him. He's been wrapped up in his fishing tourney, Mother's Day, crazy busy at work, fine-tuning Ashley's new ride, etc. He mentioned you had stopped by for your build material.

He's been off the board, so I posed our question to him....regarding backing/core material behind the chines for a future spray-rail install. He nixed the starboard for the reasons discussed. He said, as you did, that the leftover transom material would work perfectly for such an application.

It would be great if you could go for a spin on Matt's ride, as Aaron mentioned.  Get a feel for what's to come :thumright:
