Wiring Schematic
« on: November 28, 2011, 06:24:37 PM »
Hello all, i'm a new Aquasport owner(2002 25 Explorer), and was wondering if anyone knew where I could download a wiring schematic for my boat. Let's just say the previous owner didn't take care of the boat, and I would like to get it back up to snuff. Thanks in advance!

Hate to say it, but it probably won't do you much good...

Thanks Bob!

Sarge,
Didn't mean that in a negative way, just saying, I built Aquasports for 6 years, the "schematic" provided in the owners manuals were generic, at best...

Any questions, fire away!

I have a question and saw the answer but didn't just want to send anything to anyone.

I purchased that 202 250 Osprey........while looking under the deck at the fuel tank where the filler goes into the tank and the wiring harness is located at the forward part of the tank, I noticed there are two plugs, factory, one has a 2 wire connector that does not appear to have had anything connected to it as the terminals appear to have the green corrosion on them, its a female connector, and there is the same next to it but its a three wire connector, nothing connected......does anyone know what would have connected to those plugs?  Is there anywhere I can get a wiring schematic for a 2002 250 Osprey with twin motors and digital gauges?

Anything that could help would be appreciative.......all electronics on the vessel work, so I am thinking they are installed there for another option that was not installed from the factory.

Finally, that tube that runs down the starboard side under the deck that all the wiring and cables and hydraulic steering lines go through to the stern, its not very easy, actually pretty impossible to get a wire puller into since the hole in the deck in the console is small to begin with for my big ass fingers, but it appears from some pics I have seen on the website show that its actually not under the console, but offset a bit closer to the starboard bulkhead and not a directly under that access hole.........there was no blank pull wire left in there to be able to pull a wire through, so getting anything through that is tough after trying for over an hour last night because I simply cannot make that bend to get it started into that tube from under the console.  Any suggestions?

Just a guess here, but the Osprey and Explorer probably used the same harness, the Osprey doesn't have a FWD bilge pump and the Explorer does, probably thats one of them, the other could be a stereo speaker connection, same story with Explorer VS Osprey... I'm sure Bob can add some thoughts to that theory...

Bob asked that this reply be sent over:

Just aft of the console is an access pie. You should be able to reach over across the fuel tank through that pie to the rigging pipe. Feed a snake forward from the bilge until it reaches the end of the pipe (it's a "feel" type thing), then pull the snake over to the pie. From the pie you can feed the wires under the console flange to the oval pass-through inside the console. No, not fun but definitely doable...

Those unused plugs are most likely for cockpit lighting used on the Explorer that wasn't used on the Osprey, especially if the wire colors are blue and black.

I'll be back shortly...

What fantastic answers, thank you so much for the tip on feeding the tube, no not fun for a big guy like me, but doable, thanks so much, I am learning so much from everyone and what a great community, I just hope I can help as well as I am learning more and more. Just finished some cold ones out there in the driveway, awaiting next weekend as the past several have been making sure everything works to my satisfaction, under the stars listening to NOAA on the radio, memorizing switch location.  Be in touch soon.
