** What to do on a recent purchased boat **

 Hello fellow Boaters;
          I will be going to inspect my recent purchased boat this coming Saturday, as part of the deal with broker and seller they are going to fully detail the boat, refresh bottom paint, fix all hoses, replace live well pump, and do the 100 hour maintenance full tune up to both engines, and replace the lower unit gaskets and or seals.The boat always been on water and the seller only put recreational gas at Marina, other than replacing the fuel filters (racor) should i put something on gas tank like additives,water absorber, ethanol fuel treatment or any other components? She has some other minor things not related with performance on boat or engines but im planning a trip to Bimini and dont want to run to any trouble...  Thanks for the input in advance.

Startron is a good general additive,but there are many out there and many claims as to their effectiveness.Some folks believe in them,some don't.I use the Yamaha ring free because the mfg recommends it and I have seen evidence of less carbon build up by using it.Sea foam,is another good one along with marine stabil,like I said there are many brands and they all claim to work,it won't hurt to use one and it might help,who knows.If you go on tht you will find many opinions on this subject.

HI Pete; im gonna try the Yamaha Recommendations usually works and also the Startron. I want to start it right and there from maintenance im pretty good at maintaining and keep up with so no surprises. I posted some pics here for you to check it out, this was 3 weeks ago while surveying the boat hope you enjoy them.

[Double Trouble]

I have used Stabil since I bought her in 2007 and have not had a problem with fuel seperation in the winter I over dose her she lays for 5 months. Come March she starts up and runs well on the old gas.

Nice boat!  She looks pretty!  I assume "full detail" includes new waterpumps, new lower unit lube, new thermostats, new spark plugs, new fuel filters, and repack bearings on the trailer...

HI Seabob,

                  Yes those are Lenco lifters, i dont know if they work the sellers states he hasnt used them in 2 years and his afraid something may malfunction so i need to get someone that knows how to inspect them and gives me the OK , it may not have nothing wrong but i rather have someone check it out, do you know anyone?

                    Full detailed includes all you mentioned plus washing,waxing the vessel inside and out. The trailer is a spanking new one fabricated for this boat, they took measurements and details of the boat and had it made. Cant wait to get her out to stretch her legs and go out to Bimini.

I would want to put some hours on a boat before I ventured to bimini.

If something is going to go wrong i'd guess it would go wrong on the first couple trips out.

                              You are right about putting some hours on a unknown boat, im planning a full weekend trip around ICW next 2 weeks from now :pirat: , then another one by memorial weekend :jocolor: . My bimini trip will be on June 8th if God wishes and explore some of its beautiful places and beaches,  :sunny: Have a great week!!!
