Trolling motor for a 72 22-2

Im looking for a trolling motor for my 72 22-2. I have always run flats boats with bow mounted trolling motors. I have noticed most people around were im at use the trim tab motors. I just wanted some opinions on what you prefer or what your experiences are with either style on the 22-2. i will mainly use the trolling motor for the flats and tarpon fishing off the beach. Also what pound thrust would you suggest and would you go with the 24v or 36v. Any info would be great. I need to get one on soon so i can brake in the new boat. Thanks

The trollin' tabs are great for chasing tarpon and are either 24 or 36 V.  They are, however, heavy so that adds more weight to the back of the boat where we usually don't need it, for drainage purposes anyway.
A good strong 70-80lb 24V (possibly 36v) front mount, maybe with remote would be the ticket.

Many members are happy with the big Minnkota bow-mounts...depends on your application.

i have a 60 inch 36V MotorGuide on my 200 osprey, more than enough power to move the boat against a strong tide/ wind

i will go with the same size when i finish my flatback...

Aaron, is yours a 105 lb thrust? That should really move your 200.

109 lb, yes rick she moves pretty good, you know what they say about more power

just make sure to get the longest shaft possible. the higher bow on the 22-2's presents a challenge of keeping the TM lower unit in the water. I think there's a thread on here regarding swapping our a 48" shaft to the 60".
