Wait till you see what the landing did to it!!!!   If you read the whole thing it is pretty interesting the opinions on whether it can be repaired or not.

Let me see if I can describe what happened:
Quote
I was cruising along and somehow got between the breakers and they kept getting bigger and bigger and I didn't think I could out run them. I have a sore neck so I never looked behind me to see if there was an escape route. Wish I had.  Who was taking the pics BTW

Some serious damage there. Would have been scary for sure.  Lots of armchair expert drivers over on THT.  I didn't read all the pages - did the owner ever come on? I kinda doubt it but you never know, he was smart enough to go over that wave.
BTW, I would not have guessed that wave was that big until I read that the boat was 43ft.

It was planned all the way, photographer and all.

The dummy had more money than he had sense. Could have been serious injury or death

As rich as those a-holes are, they'll just buy a new one...or Daddy will.

Anyone who EARNED the money to buy that boat would never do the stupid azz chit these people do...

I read some of the thread on the other site, apparently it's common knowledge that you don't run a boat thru that area. Yes he was smart to go over the wave to save the lives of those aboard, but the guy is a dumb ass for getting himself in that situation.

He was a thrill-seeker. It was planned all the way, including the photographer with tripod on the beach.

This wasn't happenstance.

He's damn lucky he isn't in jail.

I was being facetious.  He certainly could have picked a much easier escape than that.

That must have been in the part I didn't read over there.

Good point Bob, I have worked hard for about 30 years to get where I am.
I take care of everything I have and, have a great appreciation for it all.
BTW, this was all over the papers out here when it happened.
I believe it was his second or third boat he damaged??

Scott, it is a famous surfing spot above SF in Northern CA.
The cameras may have been there because of the surf and surfers.
It is really something to see in person.
And yes, he is an asshat for sure.
