250 CCP rewire
« on: October 07, 2012, 09:02:58 PM »
Chapter One - Today was Day One of my 250CCP rewire courtesy of an electrical fire last weekend.  Got my oldest boy Dominick out of the rack at 8:15am and we hit Dunkin' Donuts to fuel up.  Got the boat hooked up and were heading North to Weeki Wachee.  Destination....Casa SeaBob4.  15 minutes into our journey we stopped to secure the Booty Patrol flag hanging off the VHF antenna and decided to use the opportunity to fuel up the rig for the 75 minute ride.  Smooth ride up US19 north and then a short ride eastbound after passing the infamous Weeki Watchee Springs.  Ten minutes later we arrived @ casa SeaBob4 who was waiting for us in the driveway.  A quick ride out to the "back 40" and the 250 was ready for her dismount.

I had a great conversation with Bob about my boat, fishing, all things Aquasport, etc.  I think everyone knows that SeaBob4 is wicked smart.  Well, guess what...he's smarter in person.  After about 30 minutes, I unloaded all the new electronics, unhooked the boat and drove away knowing that in a few weeks, I was going to have a "new" boat on my hands.

SeaBob4...can't thank you enough for taking on this project.  I am looking forward to getting updates from you as the project gets underway.

Mark, thank you.  We will get her where she needs to be, the way you want her!  I can tell you, when I saw that dark hull coming down the road...damn, did that bring back memories!!  Yes, before my time, but she is the forerunner of the 245/250 Osprey, built so many of them I obviously lost count...and loved that boat!

She'll be fun, in my demented sort of way!!! :thumright:  :thumright:  :thumright:

Oh, forgot to mention...your son, Dominick?  Cool dude right there!!!  Like his thinking on Vrods!!!  You should be proud of him!

Thanks Bob, Dom is a sharp kid.  Knows his stuff and has strong opinions on the gear.  Funny story....I've been looking for an e-body (1970 - 1974) Dodge Challenger or Plymouth Cuda.  Had a sweet '73 Challanger come my way via TN. with a 318CI motor and he said... "Dude you can't buy a muscle car and settle for the weakest motor in the lineup."  'nuff said.  Still looking!!

Old Duster (orange) went by me the other day...440 6-pack.  But a 426 would be sweet!  He's right, no 318s!!!

From the pics on other post of his work, your wiring will look like art...on the muscle car front, if you are looking for # matching cars, the premium will be high, but you can take a 318 Duster or Cuda and pull the little one and put a 440 or hemi in it..paint and proper decals and most will never know, but it looks right and would probably cost less that way..just a thought :salut:
