Great Job, Marc.

I can only imagine the fun you had with all those stinky bastards.

What do you catch them on and what kind of equipment were you using?

And what techniques are you using, ie trolling, casting lures, fishing a chum line, etc

Thanks, I need to learn from you guys, 'cause I will be back home at some point, maybe fishing right next to you !

Hey T, good hearing from you, usinig light tackle, 15 lb test on small spinning or baitcasters, caught some trolling with small artificial squids, Gotcha Lures, spoons, beer tabs...    they'll hit a bunch of different stuff.  Then we went to anchoring near the wreck and flat lining cut bait strips, letting them drift down, using small wire for leader and treble hook.  I see a lot of bashing them for table fare, but the truth is, if you completely remove all traces of the blood line, and get the skin off, they are not gamey at all.  My wife is the first to complain about strong fish, and she loved these, even seasoned and on the grill.  Fried, they are really good, but didn't feel like getting into the whole frying thing the other night.

Yeah, most any thing shiny.  I like the little Barracuda spoons with about 12" of #3 wire leader.

My wife is the same.  Refuses to eat "fishy" tasting fish.  Probably because a main staple when she was growing up was bluefish  :pukel:  .  Cut out the red and remove the skin.  Roll them in some Zatarain's Seasoned Fish Fry and deep fry until they float.  Yummy!

It's a good day when you lose count and have to stop and empty the cooler to do a recount.

Hey, Mark, right back at ya.

Thanks JJ, for your input as well.  Sounds like those Spaniard Macks are not to finicky when comes to hook eating.

...and that can never be a bad thing, huh?

I am lucky, I enjoy all fish... in fact I would rather have fishy fish than a sole, or something white and bland.

You are right, those mackeral are just the best grilled over coal, with fresh ground pepper, salt, and lots of fresh lime juice.

Son ! !

Great job, the both of you  :salut:
