Well Clement, a couple answers to your couple questions...
As far as transport, simply lay the motor down on either side and strap her down...pallet preferably. Won't hurt a thing. Now the hard part, running it while you're down here (assuming your winter residence is in sunny FL). It would be easier to pick up a harness w/key switch off ebay than to de-rig the motor and pull all that stuff out, as that is what you will need to do. Newer motors, you can get a test key switch harness that simply plugs into the engine harness, short and sweet, makes bench testing easy. But an '83? That would be a stretch...
