MOBILE, Alabama -- Two men fatally injured in a Jet Ski accident considered themselves brothers, the mother of one of the victims said today.
Mobile police identified Christopher Williams, 24, and Montrell Marks, 20, as the two men who were fatally injured in an accident Monday on Dog River, officials said today in a news release.
Their bodies were recovered about 4 a.m. this morning, police said.
Rosie Williams, the mother of Christopher Williams, said she went to the scene after the accident.
“It was all of a sudden,” she said. “It was just an accident.”
Christopher Williams and Marks had been good friends since childhood and “were like brothers.”
“(Montrell) called Chris his big brother,” she said.
“He was a loving, caring son and would do anything for anybody,” she said of her son. “He had his faults like we all do, but he was a good boy.”
Mobile police said two males were riding a Jet Ski Monday when it overturned suddenly, throwing both passengers into the water. Neither was wearing a life jacket, officials said.
Officials said the accident occurred about 8 p.m. Monday. Mobile Police and several local agencies were dispatched to a report of a boating accident at Navco Park on Dog River Drive.
