The 135 isn't too much hp, but a 25" shaft isn't what that transom was originally made for (20"), but there are ways to make it work.

Should be the right amount of power
How old is the mariner? If I remember right they have not made them for at least 10yrs
Is the mariner a DFI?

the motor is a 1990 salt water series mariner also just found a ocean pro 90 with a bad lower unit i think i will go with that instead and put my 115 good lower unit on it and call it a day i'll loose a little speed but not to much
