Reunion New England Style- (Southern)
« on: August 04, 2012, 11:19:50 PM »
well, seems as though there are a lot of us in New England and its a pretty big area, so I am gonna try and start this off with a framework that makes the most sense for this year( since we are short on time).

i dont believe we can pull off an overnighter or anything big in such a short time, but maybe we could have area specific mini-gatherings  as a start.

For example, there are several CT members, so maybe we meet up in a central location like bridgeport, which is close enough for the few new yorkers to get to (though still a long haul).

Then the MA people could do the same up there way, with you guys in RI joining whichever is closer.

I am going to start a southern post and a northern pose.

I will suggest central LIS for southern and will suggest a south shore, MA for the North, but these are only suggested starting points to get the ball rolling.   Please reply with comments ideas and thoughts for whichever region you believe you will want to participate in.

Thanks
Bill

As a starting point,   I can trailer my boat to just about any public launch in the state.  I am currently in New London, but can be as far as Fairfield in 2 hours.  I would prefer someplace more central though.

I would suggest something as simple as just picking a weekend day and a public launch and we get togethor at the launch for some admiring of each others boats and then perhaps a convey out for those that want a day of blues or striper (lead by the guy that is most familiar with the area).  If you guys wanted to hit New London in September, there are plenty of places for blues and striper and if it ends up after October 10th, some blackfish.

my two cents

Hey Bill - this is your brainchild, so why don't you try and pick a day and suggest some sort of tentative itinarary for your home waters in Fisher Island sound and the Race, and see how many could attend or would be interested.  I know the area from New London to Stonington, Mystic, and Watch Hill is a GORGEOUS stretch of shoreline, and it also has much cleaner water than the western part of the Sound for those who'd want to swim.   Do you know enough good fishin areas or beaching/anchoring areas that would be C.A.S. reunion friendly?  :pirat:

jus' my two cents!

Good Idea Ryan,

I'll bump this up and see if anyone else has any thoughts.
