My wife and kids decided they wanted to get out in the islands to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary....needless to say I didn't argue
I kicked out of work around 1:30 pm on Friday to pack the AS.
I told the kids to be at our place at 3:15pm to get the he!! out of Dodge.
Kids showed up around 4:30.
That's my daughter on the left ..my son is the one in the middle. my sons girl friend had to work the weekend so his buddy came along.
This would be my bride ..... she has put up with me for 30 years
We had a 10 mile run across the Straight to a condo we where staying in.
Wind was blowing out of the SW about 30 knots
needless to say we all got soaked ....:( I be thinking it might be time for a hard top boat.
Our average speed was around 12 mph, with all the crap we had packed in the old AS, she road it out like a Cadillac and got us to our destination.
This is only half of what we had on board
....
Thank god I had some young kids along, they packed everything up to the condo while I cracked a cold one and relaxed in the boat ...what the he!!...I got em there
The boys wanted to fish some on Saturday. They got up around 9:00 am
After mom feed them breakfast we headed out around 10 am
Got a small Chinook a couple hours later, mission accomplished
Across the ditch from the condos......the marina is what we call the ditch....there is a air strip, kinda cool to sit on the deck and watch the small planes come in. This particular plane circled the air strip once before it came in. The sound of it caught my attention, guessing it may be era WW11. Maybe wing can tell us what it is.
Awhile back I had scored on 50 lbs shrimp from Mexico, 16 to 20 count per pound. It's frozen in 5lb blocks, in water. Took a block of it out to try Scott steamed shrimp
Dam good stuff
.....Thanks goes out to Scotty for posting all these great seafood recipes
The young man at the end of the table holding up the piece of watermelon is my son in law........ poor guy is allergic to shrimp :( He had to shoot a wedding on Friday so he caught the last ferry to the island at 11;00 pm Friday night.
My son bringing us back to port on Sunday
Adios to the Islands for a week or so
Anyways we where gone for a total of 44 hours, probably no more than 25 miles... as a crow flies ...from home, but felt like we where thousands of miles away.
The islands out here have a way of doing that to ya.
Damn I was tired on Monday !!!
