Here I Go Again

Hey Everyone going to start another project on my 250 CCP. I have a few soft spots on the floor just a small area on the starboard side, tank cover soft, console screws starting to back out and I want to get rid of the spash well wall and build a solid transom. Few questions that I'm sure the AS professionals can help out with!

1. I plan on just removing top layer of the floor and removing bad wood. Replace bad wood with either coosa or plywood replace cap and seem together with epoxy/glass/fairing.

2. Remove console so I can remove tank cover. From what I have read I will replace bad wood from the bottom. Sounds pretty straight forward.

3. This step I could use some help on. My t-top is attached to my console and the console is held to the floor with about 25-30 3/16" screws. I would like to add something below the floor for the console to screw back into. Maybe glass in a piece of hard wood or even glass in a piece of 1/4" aluminum and drill and tap it once the console is installed. The question I have is this even possible to do this without removing the floor under the console?

4. I want to remove engine splash well and enclose the transom. I rebuilt the transom a couple of years ago and it appears to be rock solid. My thouhts are remove splash well wall, enclose engine cut out with a couple layers of coosa glass and epoxy, fair and finish. Install a flotation bracket.  I was planning on having the full transom mimic the Wattever boat that was posted here a few years back.

5. Anyone familiar with kiwi grip? Looks too good to be true!

The reason for doing all this is I was considering buying a 25 contender and I quickly realized that 70k for a used boat did not really get me that much more fish ability. I will admit the larger beam on the contender is nice and the 24 degree dead rise rides really nice but the length inside the boat is the same and the gunnels on the aquasport are at least 3-4 inches higher which is nice since I'm 6-2. So a few grand to update and fix some soft spots seems like the right decision.

Any recommendations or input will be greatly appreciated. I will be sure to take plenty of pictures when I start the project

Not sure if Keith ever finished with the splash well. Maybe he'll speak up.

Thanks for the link. I at least know what it will look like after I take the cut off wheel to it.  Can't start until late summer. Wife and kids want to use it until the water temp is below 80 degrees. Should give me plenty of time to start hunting and gathering!
