Trim Tab location layout

OK, I pulled "Pookie", (yes, that's her name. My Dad named her that and out of respect for him, this name will remain), out of the water today. Looking to get to know the aft end of my boat as I lay out these trim tabs. While she's out I'll flush out the holds real well and go through all the required yearly maintenance.
I'd really appreciate and feedback you all might have on positioning these trim tabs. I've got Lenco 12 x 12's. I've also got a swim ladder that might be in the way. I'd like to keep it

I've been researching this myself in anticpation of installing a set in the near future. The best way I have found to determine location is to look at where everyone else has them and the overwhelming majority are as far out to the sides as possible on the V portion before it flattens out into the chine or lifting strake.

Hey guys, take a look at this pic. A set of Bennetts I installed on a 2390 Hydra-Sports. Yes, the boat has trim tab pockets, but that is a moot point. Note the location of the ouboard edge of the tab in relation to the transition from the chine to the hull bottom. That's where you want them located...
In regards to a swim platform, you simply make a cut-out in the platform to accomodate clearance for the actuator...

What SB said:
Notice how the bracket supports were relocated on each platform to clear the actuator.

That looks good, and if someone forgets to flip down the steps, they can just use the tab as a boarding ladder!!!!

That is correct.
In fact it works so well (it is a tad painful on bare feet) that I have removed the starboard ladder altogether. 8)
